after a remix for dasos so sexy last year, the german-peruvian artist martin patiño confirms his presence on popcorn records with an entire ep. to begin with, solid ground is born from the collaboration with astrid. we already heard them on the great hunter ep on cadenza at the beginning of the year. the result of this new featuring is an original techno track with all the good components you expect from tr707 drums to a xylophone melody, in addition to the sexy and reassuring voice of astrid. the american pezzner honored us with a particular interpretation. a deep theme, with percussions, long and subtle panpipes breathe. as if pezzner was paying tribute to martin patinos roots. finally, routinary coffes comes to conclude this warm and deep record done for the sweating parties of the upcoming winter.

valcrond video, the label of brooklyn-based visual artist and producer luke wyatt presents its very first vinyl issue in the shape of two new tracks from torn hawk, one of wyatts aliases. first coming to the fore in a musical sense with a set of distressed guitar and asphalt beat attacks on the lies white label series, torn hawk has been closely associated with ron morellis label ever since with wyatt subsequently working with karen gwyer, secret circuit and willie burns. distancing himself a bit from the grime and grit some associate with his productions, the two new tracks have more in common with the more expansively voiced compositions on emotional response release teen hawk, or the cinematic melancholy of the untitled ep he released under the alias lossmaker. clearly wyatt is building towards housing all his musical instincts under one roof.

vanessa (a dreamer) is the second 12 inch from brooklyn-based artist divvorce on fifth wall, the imprint he founded last february with hound scales. drawing influence from such pretentious sources as franz kafka, the early work of darren aronofsky, and a solitary walk through the streets of paris during fashion week, the ep consists of two compact slices of techno(?) and two remixes. first is the meandering, dreamlike *wander 7*, followed by the truculent but jubilant *roquentins release* and finishing with remixes by fellow fifth wall artists physical therapy and unklone.

retrieval is the debut collaborative album from faith coloccia and alex barnett. artist and composer coloccia was a founding member of everlovely lightningheart, and is perhaps best known as one half of mamiffer. she has contributed to recordings by house of low culture, boris and william fowler collins among others, and collaborations with circle and daniel menche are forthcoming. alex barnett played in oakeater but since 2009 has been active primarily as a solo artist, with releases on catholic tapes, draft, nihilist and others.
